The Convention Centre (otherwise known as the Macquarie Auditorium) is the perfect location for your next small or large event. Located right in the heart of the CBD and close to accommodation venues, DRTCC is situated opposite picturesque Victoria Park and has ample free parking available within close proximity to the venue.
The Convention Centre is a flat-floor auditorium which can seat 750 theatre style, up to 500 banquet style and is an ideal venue for a range of events.
A dynamic venue where you can hire the auditorium including the Oxley Room and surrounding L-shaped foyer on the eastern and southern sides of the Convention Centre as a whole or independently for smaller functions, hire half the auditorium, the foyers or just the Oxley Room (to the side of the auditorium).
As a conference space, the Convention Centre is air-conditioned, accessible and complimentary Wi-fi access is readily available. The room hire fee includes a lectern and wired microphone (if required) and a projector and screen can be hired at an additional cost. Other conference equipment items are also available for hire. If you are interested in hosting a catered event, the Convention Centre has a commercial kitchen and our team will set your tables as you require and provide complimentary bar staff when operating the bar as part of your event.
Alternatively the Convention Centre is suitably sized for a large exhibition independently or in conjunction with your conference. Both the foyers and Oxley Room also provide ample space for additional exhibitor booths or catering spaces.
