Australia Day Dubbo
Join us at the Dubbo Regional Theatre & Convention Centre for a morning of live entertainment, children's activities and market stalls.
The event will award winners in the following categories:
- Citizen of the Year
- Senior Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Sportsperson of the Year
- Young Sportsperson of the Year
- Services to Sports Award
- Cultural Person of the Year
There will also be a Citizenship Ceremony.

We’re recognising Australia Day 2025 by rewarding our budding creatives!
If you are aged 18 years or under you can enter a photo or a poem in our My Home Competition.
The winning poem and photo will received a $100 MyDubbo Region Card. Each runner up will receive a $50 MyDubbo Region Card.These gift cards can be spent in one or more of 150 participating businesses across Dubbo and Wellington. Select from one of the following themes related to our Dubbo Regional Council Local Government Area:
- Hometown Pride: Focus on what makes our area special. This could include local landmarks, community events, or everyday life.
- Generations: Showcase the connections between different generations in our region. This could be through kinship or family traditions, shared activities, or historical landmarks that have been part of the community for years.
- Seasons: Capture the beauty of our area through the changing seasons. This could include seasonal activities, landscapes, and how the community adapts to different times of the year.
- Australian Flora and Fauna: Highlight the unique plants and animals found in the area.
- Community Spirit: Focus on the people of our region and their contributions to the community. This could include volunteers, local heroes, or everyday acts of kindness that make our region a great place to live.
- Cultural Diversity: Celebrate the diverse cultures that make up our area. This could include festivals, traditional clothing, food, and other cultural expressions.
- Adventure and Exploration: Capture experiences and adventures.
