Remembering the War Years - through Song, Dance and Theatre

Saturday 10 November 2018, 7.30pm
Presented by Dubbo Theatre Company

This year marks the centenary anniversary of the signing of the Armistice on the 11th day of the 11th month 1918 to end World War 1. The signing of the armistice heralded the end of a conflict which had a profound effect on millions of people all around the world.

As the world fought, people looked for solace in words, song and dance as a means of connection, a place to socialise, escape, to be free. Dance halls became popular, with live bands and lots of singing and dancing; letters, diaries and poetry allowed people to connect and express themselves and theatre provided entertainment and a distraction from the outside world.

Remembering the War Years - through Song, Dance and Theatre is a performance which embraces all these genres and remembers what our ancestors went through during the two world war conflicts of 1914-1918 and 1939-1945.

Come and join members of Dubbo and Western NSW’s premiere performance companies; including Dubbo Theatre Company, Dubbo Ballet Studio, Stepping Out Dance Factory and the Mighty Big Band as they take to the stage to perform a music, dance and theatre tribute to the war years.
