General Venue Information
The Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre houses a 500-seat tiered theatre and 700-seat auditorium. The state-of-the-art venue boasts a comprehensive computerised sound and lighting control room, a box office, acoustically designed auditorium, hydraulic orchestra pit, raised stage, dressing rooms, 'green room', refreshment bar and designated seating for people with disabilities.
This multi-purpose venue is the ideal setting for a range of events including trade shows, seminars and conferences, meetings, award nights, weddings, performing arts and entertainment. Located right in the centre of Dubbo overlooking the picturesque Victoria Park, the venue is in walking distance to motels, shopping centres, restaurants and cafes. Enjoy the spacious and air-conditioned foyers, comfortable seating and great sight lines to see quality local performances and a variety of national touring shows from around Australia. Booking is made easy with friendly Box Office staff and the convenience of an on-line ticketing system.
Parking Car parks are available, adjacent to the south and north of the facility with a total of 100 car spaces including 5 accessible car spaces. Both car parks are always well lit at night.
On-street parking is also available in nearby Darling, Church and Talbragar Streets and Carrington Avenue. Time restrictions may apply, please refer to parking signs. Please do not leave valuables in your car.

Weekday Matinees Weekday matinees may be attended by school groups. Special school group discounts are available where noted. Parking may also be at a premium. Please call the Box Office for further information.

Latecomers Latecomers will not be admitted into the Theatre auditorium until there is a suitable break in the performance.
Seating Feel free to stand to allow patrons to access their seats, however, please do not sit on the upturned seats - this is neither good for your back or our seats.
Bags and Prams For the safety and comfort of patrons, large bags and prams are not permitted in the Theatre auditorium during a performance. These can be stored by a staff member during the performance.
Mobile Phones All mobile phones and electronic devices are to be turned off prior to the performance commencing.
Cameras or any forms of electronic recording equipment are not to be used in the Theatre Auditorium.
Refreshments Food and drink are not permitted in the Theatre auditorium at any time. Bottled water, however, is permitted.
Bar The Theatre Bar will be open one hour prior to most shows and during most intervals. Enquire at the bar before the show if you would like to pre order your drinks for interval to avoid the rush.
Suggestion Box In addition to our annual patron survey and feedback form on our website we encourage you to offer suggestions and make comments using the Suggestion Box located at the Box Office.
Lost Property Lost property items handed into our Box Office are recorded and registered.
If you have lost something at Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre (DRTCC) please call our Box Office on 02 6801 4378 or or complete our online Lost Property Form and we will check the lost property box for you.
It’s helpful if you have a detailed description of your item - the more specific the better! It will also be really helpful if you let us know when you lost it, the performance you were watching and the seat you were sitting in, or if you have misplaced your item in another area of the DRTCC. If we find your property we will contact you so that you can come and collect it from us.
Lost property is held for one month from the date it is found, items not claimed after 30 days will be donated to charity or disposed of responsibly.
DRTCC HOUSE RULES
a) No food or drink is permitted on the stage including the wings.
b) The loading dock is not for the exclusive use of any one hirer/user and must be accessible for other deliveries.
c) No item may be stored in the fire corridors or in corridors with public access.
d) All signs designated ''Authorised Personnel Only'', ''Staff Only'', ''No Entry'', ''Restricted Area'' or any other access restrictions sign erected within the building must be strictly observed and obeyed.
e) Any usage permissions and/or access privileges granted are of a 'one off' nature pertinent to a particular show only. It should not be construed as the same access or privileges being extended to future shows or events by the Hirer.
f) Propping open doors is not permitted.
g) The Flying System - If the Hirer requires equipment or a scene to be flown, these must be deemed safe to be flown. Two DRTCC staff must be utilised to fly equipment and scenery. The flying system is not to be operated by anyone other than the DRTCC staff unless specific authorisation has been granted by the Manager or Technical and Production Co-ordinator.
h) Racist, sexist and other offensive language and/or behaviour is not tolerated at DRTCC on site or on the surrounding grounds. Where incidences of inappropriate behaviour continues to occur after being spoken to by a DRTCC staff member, DRTCC staff reserve the right to ask offending person/persons to leave the site regardless of the event or the offending person/persons role in it.
i) Feedback and Concerns - Feedback regarding the operation of the facility is to be in writing and sent:
a) By email to email@example.com and copied to the Manager DRTCC, firstname.lastname@example.org or
b) By mail to Dubbo Regional Council, PO Box 81, Dubbo 2830 or
c) Handed to Customer Service of Dubbo Regional Council or the DRTCC Box Office
The correspondence will be duly recorded in the Electronic Document Management System then forwarded to the relevant person. A written response will be provided within 10 working days.
If the matter is urgent, please relay the issue to DRTCC Management at once and then follow the protocol by putting the concern in writing and an investigation will then commence
