Under the direction of Major Peter Thomas, the 32 musicians of Australian Army Band – Kapooka will help you re-live some of your favourite musical moments from Hollywood and Broadway, and feature a spectacular precision drum display – all interspersed with the Band’s trademark sense of humour and of course music from the parade ground designed to get your feet tapping.
Acclaimed singer Simone Dew joined the Australian Army as a Vocalist in 1989. Simone has shared the stage with Marina Prior, Rhonda Burchmore and Guy Sebastian. She has also had the privilege of singing the Australian National Anthem at the MCG and the GABBA, and was also chosen to sing both the French and Australian National Anthems at the 90th Commemorative Service for ANZAC Day at Gallipoli. In a feast of popular 20th century classics, Simone will perform music from Wicked, Man of La Mancha and many other hit songs.
So it’s time to spit polish your boots, buff up the brass and get ready for an afternoon of military magic from the maestros of marches, musicals and movies.
