Enjoy an upbeat program of Bold ‘n Brassy music presented by the highly successful Dubbo District Concert Band under the baton of one of Australia’s most well known conductors and principal trombone of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Ronald Prussing.
Ronald will also feature as trombone soloist under the baton of the Band’s Director, and Prussing’s former student at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Macquarie Conservatorium brass specialist, Stephen Smith.
Established in 1879 originally as a Brass Band, the Dubbo District Band amalgamated with the Macquarie Conservatorium Wind Ensemble in July 2008 and was renamed the Dubbo District Concert Band. The Band performs regularly at community events including Australia Day, Anzac Day, the Dubbo Show and Carols by Candlelight.
Following their highly successful Salute to the Songwriters concert presented in October 2010, the Dubbo District Concert Band will present a highly entertaining program of music by some of the best and latest composers for Concert Band.
